Gurbani is the words of the Guru, it is knowledge that came to us from the source of all existence - Akaal Purakh - The Ultimate Being - God.

There are translations of Gurbani and interpretations provided by Sikhs. These can help us understand and progress. To advance in our Sikhi we should all seek to learn gurmukhi and understand Guru  Ji's teachings in their pure form.

Mool Mantr

Guru Ganth Sahib Ji begins with the Mool Mantr. It is the root (mool) of all knowledge, it answers the most fundamental questions about the existence of God and the nature of the Universe.

Jap Ji Sahib

The is the first Bani in Guru Granth Sahib. It was written by Guru Nanak Dev Ji. It teaches us about the One God, who exists in every part of the universe and is the only True Power. Guru Ji shows us how we can uncover the truth that is inside us.

Jaap Sahib

This Bani was written by Guru Gobind Singh Ji and is come from the Dasam Granth Sahib. It describes the limitless qualities of the True Master using different languages. To help realise the Greatness of the Universal Lord: as you listen to the track learn about the meanings of each description.

Tav Prasad Savaiye

This Bani is from the Dasam Granth and is written by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Guru Ji illustrates how even if you achieve the goals that common people have such as fame, power, strength, glory, wealth, practice of rituals, they are worthless in the end of life. The only real value is the love for Vaheguru that is found by meditating on Naam.

Chaupai Sahib
This Bani is written by Guru Gobind Singh Ji and is from the Dasam Granth Sahib. In this Bani we pray to God for protection and safety from the internal and external negative forces. It reminds that in reality everything is under the Will of Akaal.

Anand Sahib
This Bani is written by Guru Amar Das Ji, the third Guru and it is from Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Anand means bliss, Guru Ji describes the state of mind of a person who has realised the Truth.  It illustrates the traps we fall into in our daily lives, that prevent us from finding true happiness. Guru Ji explains how we can reach a level that is beyond both pain and comfort.

Rehras Sahib

This is our evening prayer. It includes Gurbani by the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 10th Gurus. It teaches us about God, the universe, and why we are here. By mediating on this Bani we can pray to Guru Ji to help us in our journey on this earth.

Kirtan Sohila
Is the prayer we read before bedtime at night. It includes teachings of 1st, 4th and 5th Gurus. It reminds us that we must all leave this world and we should live as good people to find true happiness.

Ardas
In the Ardas we remember our Gurus and some of the Great Sikhs in our history. We pray to God for the safety and happiness of everybody. The Ardas is our way of asking something from God.
